About

Labs began as the technology arm of our sister publishing company NextScreen. We started with the mission to create technology solutions for the publishing businesses but it quickly grew to an organization that supports start-ups, existing enterprises and still support our sister companies.

Today we're a technology product shop, incubator and consultancy. We are experts in business, technology, strategy and software engineering. But possibly the most important thing you need to know about us is that we want you to be successful, and we’ll be honest from the start about whether we can help you and add value to your business.

The Team

Tom Martin

Tom began his experience with problem-solving at MIT, which then continued in his work as a consultant with McKinsey, VP of marketing for Toshiba and VP of marketing and business development for Dell. Tom is so good at managing complexity that he is simultaneously the CEO of venture capital firm Convergence Equity, CEO of NextScreen, and managing partner at nFusion.

Rob Grady

With over 14 years of experience in consulting and technology product management, Rob has a talent for bringing order to chaos through his dedication to gathering information and then converting it into clear and effective strategies. His experience with start-ups, product management, user experience design and business strategy with organizations including FedEx and AutoZone have given him the ability to quickly recognize what works and what doesn’t. Rob has received both his MBA and B.A. from the University of Memphis.

Jason Christa

Jason holds a computer science degree from the University of Texas, as well as web geek street cred, gained by tinkering with the open-source web development framework, Django. At NextScreen Labs, he has been involved with cloud computing efforts, as well as developing and launching a wide variety of sites.

Tony Buckingham

Tony has been on the digital bandwagon from almost the first days of the bandwagon’s existence. He received a computer science degree from Trinity University and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and began a dialup ISP in San Francisco way back in 1997. Eventually, he helped to merge that ISP with four others, creating Inter.net, a global ISP. His ability to do amazing things is also proven by the fact that cats and dogs get along under his roof.

Kim Conklin

Kim graduated from La Salle University with a degree in Psychology. Working for NextScreen Labs, she uses what she learned on a daily basis to craft clean and usable designs. Though her primary role is web designer, she also dabbles in front-end development and project management.

Andrew Minard

Andrew is a student of psychology, computer science and business at The University of Texas. Functioning in product management, he has a hand in a number of projects. He helps to build new technology products, while providing a fresh perspective on existing ones. He works on the team to manage content and translate business needs into fundamental tech requirements.
